Creativity and the Management of Change
provides an authoritative review of historic and contemporary
ideas in the area of organization studies. Covering economic
theory, the work of Schumpeter, industrial innovation and
organizational change, this ground-breaking book provides
an overview of key business topics for advanced students.
Rickards believes that the theory of business
must be connected with personal discovery processes if it
is to be applied effectively in practice. This approach
has been extensively tested in the author's international
business courses over a period of twenty years, and involves
'journeys of exploration' -- using scanning methods and
creative problem-solving -- into business areas such as
creativity, innovation, strategy, marketing, decision-making,
leadership, economics, and general change management.
Tudor Rickards is Head of the Organisation
Behaviour Subject Area Group, Manchester Business School,
within the Federal School at Manchester. He was formerly
Director of the Residential MBA programme at MBS. He has
published extensively, won numerous awards in his specialist
areas of study, and holds the position of Professor of Creativity
and Organizational Change at MBS. He has held visiting positions
at the Universities of Kiel and Buffalo, New York, where
he retains the Alex Oxborn Visiting Professorship. He is
also editor of the journal Creativity and Innovation
Management, published by Blackwell.
